By removing the affected bone and replacing it with an endoprosthesis, there is no need for a bone bank or commercially available allografts. Infections are reduced and easier to control with antibiotic therapy. There is better biomechanical performance and resistance to implant failure in axial compression. The surgery is technically less demanding and surgery time is reduced. Overall, the client cost is less when factoring in surgery time, aftercare and the lack of methylmethacrylate and allograft.
